FORESTRY DEVELOPMENT TRUST (FDT) LEADERS VISIT THE COLLEGE OF FORESTRY, WILDLIFE AND TOURISM (CFWT)
On 22nd January, 2019 outgoing Director of the Forestry Development Trust (FDT) Mr. Simon Milledge visited the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Tourism (CFWT) at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) to introduce the incoming Acting Director Ms. Christine Mavulla.
During the visit, the CFWT was informed that Mr. Simon will still be in Tanzania serving in the capacity of National Director of Gatsby Charitable Foundation and FDT Board member.
Since its establishment FDT has been collaborating with CFWT in various activities related to the development of the forest sector in Tanzania. Recently, FDT and the CFWT have worked together on various undertakings including: establishing a 4ha species trial plot at the SUA Training Forest Olmotonyi(Arusha), development of Integrated Fire Management Plan for Tanzania, and development of new curriculum of Bachelor of Science in Commercial and Urban Forestry.
The Acting Trust Director Ms Mavulla promised to continue working together with the CFWT to ensure sustainability of introduced innovations and projects.
