SUA in collaboration with Climate Resilience and Adaptation in Tropical Drylands (CLARITY) will help to solve water problem in Dodoma

It has been stated that the Innovation Lab under the Climate Resilience and Adaptation in Tropical Drylands (CLARITY) Project, which involves various stakeholders seeking solutions to the challenges of climate change and its impacts on groundwater availability, can help address the challenge of water availability in Dodoma city.

The CLARITY project, which is led by Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), aims to enhance the equity, sustainability and resilience of climate-smart water pathways in tropical drylands, and to integrate the solutions found into policy processes and community implementation.

By leveraging the work and expertise of the CLARITY Innovation Lab in Dodoma, the project can contribute towards resolving the water availability issues faced by the city, which is an important objective given the impacts of climate change in the region.

The Director of the Directorate of Postgraduate Studies, Research, Technology Transfer and Professional Advice at SUA, Prof. Japhet Kashaigili, said that the CLARITY Innovation Lab in Dodoma is led by SUA. He clarified that CLARITY aims to enhance the equity, sustainability and resilience of climate-smart water pathways in tropical drylands, and to integrate the solutions found into policy processes and community implementation.
