The Government of Tanzania welcomed 10 experts from St. Petersburg University, Russia 🇷🇺, who arrived in the country for an exchange visit to share skills and technology in the forestry sector. This visit is part of the strategic collaboration between Tanzania and Russia in forest conservation and the development of this sector.
This partnership was initiated following the directives of the Honorable Prime Minister after the 2023 Summit of African and Russian Heads of State. In this context, institutions like TFS (Tanzania Forest Services), TAFORI (Tanzania Forestry Research Institute), and SUA (Sokoine University of Agriculture) were involved in preparing these agreements, marking an important step in strengthening academic and research relations between these two nations.
As part of the expert exchange program, Tanzania will also send 10 of its experts to Russia in May 2025. The Russian experts did their visit to different parts of Tanzania from March 9 to 16.
