According to the Mining permanent secretary Kheri Mahimbali, Tanzania is positioning itself as a hub for critical minerals in Africa. The country is implementing its Vision 2030, which involves mapping out the country’s mineral capacity and exploring various kinds of minerals found in Tanzania.
The government aims to work with development partners to establish industries in Tanzania or Africa that will enable them to add value to these minerals and bring about in-continent capacity and beneficiation. The government’s vision is to expand Tanzania’s influence and reach and become a key global player in the critical minerals industry.
