The College of Forestry, Wildlife and Tourism (CFWT) though the Department of Forest Engineering and Wood Sciences conducted a one day training needs assessment stakeholders’ workshop on development of curriculum for a proposed BSc. (Wood Technologies and Value Addition) degree programme on 19th August 2019 in the SUA Council Chamber, Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro.
The workshop was attended by various stakeholders from within Sokoine University of Agriculture and beyond including Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH), The Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI), The Forest Industry Training Institute (FITI), Tanzania Forest Service Agency (TFS), Forestry Training Institute (FTI) Olmotonyi to mention few.
The main objective of the BSc (Wood Technologies and Value Addition) curriculum is to produce graduates with broad technical knowledge of wood processing and associated hands on skills to fulfill their professional demands in the highly competitive global market with confidence, outstanding ethical and moral values.
