Watch BTM second Year students doing food production field practical at National College of Tourism, Arusha Tanzania

 

Bachelor of Tourism Management second year students from Sokoine University of Agriculture conducted a field practical on food production at National College of Tourism in Arusha, Tanzania. The aim of the practical was to enhance practical skills that will be useful for improving the quality of tourism activities in Tanzania.

National College of Tourism (NCT) is fully accredited with National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) at National Technical. The college offers a Certificate in Food Production, which is one of the programs that the students from Sokoine University of Agriculture participated in during their field practical. Food and beverage management is an important aspect of the hospitality and tourism industry. The industry employs one in 11 people in the world with jobs that include travel, lodging, meetings, events, restaurants, cruise ships, and recreation.

The students from Sokoine University of Agriculture gained practical skills in food production that will be useful in their future careers in the hospitality and tourism industry.The field practical provided the students with an opportunity to work in a high-energy environment and create a memorable dining experience for their guests. The students learned what it takes to be successful in the hospitality and tourism industry, from accomplished professionals to prominent industry leaders. Aizeck Mwang’onda, a graduate of Sokoine University of Agriculture, conducted his field practical training in a hotel. This is an example of how practical training can prepare students for their future careers in the hospitality and tourism industry.

In conclusion, the field practical on food production at National College of Tourism in Arusha, Tanzania provided Bachelor of Tourism Management second year students from Sokoine University of Agriculture with practical skills that will be useful for improving the quality of tourism activities in Tanzania. The practical training is an important aspect of preparing students for their future careers in the hospitality and tourism industry.
