BIOGRAPHY


Mathew is an assistant lecture in the Department of Wildlife Management with over seven years of experience in the fields of tourism and wildlife management. Mr. Mathew worked with the Ministry of Natural Resource and Tourism as a Tourism Officer with main responsibilities of advising and licensing tourism businesses of Tanzania between 2008 and 2010.  He has excellent capacity to carry out research and consultancy work on issues related to political ecology and governance and management of wildlife – tourism resources, tourism’s natural resources planning and use, human dimensions of tourism and conservation, tourism businesses management and tourism influences on people, environment and development. Mr. Mathew carries out teaching, supervision of research work for undergraduate students and tourism consultancy. Mr. Mathew holds a Master of Science degree in Leisure, Tourism and Environment from Wageningen University – The Netherlands and a Bachelor of Tourism Management from Makerere University – Kampala, Uganda.
