Scaling New Heights: Wildlife Management Students Conquer Mt. Kilimanjaro and Embrace Conservation Challenges

Mountain climbing is an electrifying and adventurous sport that offers both an adrenaline rush and a profound connection with nature. It rejuvenates participants and fosters a deep environmental connection. Recently, Third Year BSc Wildlife Management students undertaking their field practical training at Kilimanjaro National Park faced the challenge of climbing to Uhuru Peak via the Marangu route on Mount Kilimanjaro. Their journey began on June 16 and conquered the peak at 6 AM on June 19. Many undertook the challenges but those who reached the peak were Joseph Mboya, Praygod Lyaro, Epimark Ritti, Aman Obedi, Antony Mteleka, Sebald Urassa, and Melkizedeck Kijomoko, with Prof. Alfan A. Rija organizing the expedition.

Mountain climbing teaches resilience, fearlessness, and the ability to face challenges, providing a rewarding sense of achievement. More information can be found via the following. Conquering the summit or An exciting adventure  or An exciting adventure and coursework or Conquering the uhuru peak
