I am an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Forest Engineering and Wood Sciences with strong interests in non-timber forest products, forest and wood products certification, forest landscape restoration, plants and community ecology, and sawmilling.
Currently my work is focused on:
- Certification of forest and wood products as a tool for forest resource management
- Ethnobotanical knowledge and use value of various tree species
- Fire resistance of Miombo and lesser utilized timber species
- Multivariate studies of forest and wood resource parameters
- Mechanical and physical wood testing (bending strength, modulus of rupture and elasticity, bonding properties of adhesives)
